What is Internal Medicine?

The internist is an expert in disease prevention, health promotion, continuing care and in managing patients with advanced disease, The internist is comfortable treating patients an office exam room, the intensive care unit, a hospital ward, a nursing home or assisted living facility. The internist is the medical professional most adults turn to when they need attention for their unexplained aches, pains, fatigues, for comfort of their colds and flus and for the treatment and advice of illnesses, such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid problems and elevated cholesterol, just to name a few.

We see all patients by appointment and request that you call in advance to reserve a time. We understand that emergencies do arise in which you need to be seen immediately. We would appreciate an advanced phone call prior so we will be prepared for your arrival. On occassion, we too will have emergencies that may cause delays. Whenever possible, you will be informed of any such delays - we respect your time.

Please provide at least 24 hours advanced notice if you will be unable to keep your appointment.
